Board of Directors
The NAGA Board of Directors conducts and supervises all aspects of the association’s business. Board members, elected by the membership, serve three-year terms. One third of board members are up for election each year. The Board of Directors elects the officers.
Committees comprised of board members and volunteers, handle different industry related issues, events or factions of NAGA business. The committees do research then report their findings and recommendations to the board. The board then takes the appropriate action.
The committees and their responsibilities are:
Awards – makes recommendations, based on member nominations, to the NAGA Board of Directors regarding which member or members deserve the title of the NAGA “Member of the Year” for their service or contribution to the association..
Communication and Publications – has responsibility for providing an informative timely publication to the membership.
Compensation – ensures NAGA is appropriately compensating the Executive Director and any other paid employees of the organization.
Conservation and Sportsmen’s Relations – fosters close working relations with other conservation and sportsmen’s organizations.
Convention – is charged with the responsibilities of all the details of the annual NAGA convention.
Executive Committee – oversees all of the other committees.
Finance – monitors the association’s finances and works with the Executive Director to formulate a budget for the coming year. Additionally they watch the association’s expenditures and income throughout the year.
Health & Environment – monitors and assesses all health and environmental issues worldwide that affect, or have the potential to affect, the game bird and preserve hunting industry.
Legislative & Regulatory – keeps abreast of new issues concerning the welfare of the hunting and game bird industry
Nominating – oversees the nomination process for Board of Director candidates.
Promotion & Development – is charged with promoting the growth of NAGA.
Scholarship – reviews applications for the “NAGA John Mullin Scholarship” applications and makes recipient recommendations to the board.
